Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Transport Safety Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of transportation safety within our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of hazardous materials in compliance with regulatory requirements. The Transport Safety Manager will also play a key role in promoting a culture of safety, providing training and guidance to drivers and staff, and continuously improving safety performance across all transportation operations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement transportation safety policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with local and international regulations, industry best practices, and company standards.
  2. Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments of transportation operations, facilities, and equipment to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety requirements.
  3. Provide leadership and guidance to a team of drivers, ensuring they are trained and equipped to safely handle hazardous materials and operate vehicles in accordance with safety protocols.
  4. Establish and maintain effective communication channels with drivers, dispatchers, and other relevant stakeholders to promote safety awareness, report safety incidents, and address safety concerns in a timely manner.
  5. Coordinate with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and other external stakeholders to stay informed of changes in safety regulations, standards, and best practices, and ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
  6. Investigate transportation-related accidents, incidents, and near misses, and develop corrective actions and preventive measures to mitigate risks and prevent reoccurrence.
  7. Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics and trends, and provide regular reports and updates to management on safety compliance, incidents, and improvement initiatives.
  8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, logistics, maintenance, and environmental health and safety (EHS), to integrate safety considerations into transportation planning, scheduling, and execution.
  9. Lead emergency response and crisis management efforts related to transportation incidents, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to minimize impact and ensure effective response and recovery.
  10. Continuously evaluate and improve transportation safety programs and initiatives through feedback, lessons learned, and industry benchmarking to enhance safety culture and performance.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering, safety management, logistics, or related field; advanced degree or professional certifications preferred.
  2. Minimum 10 years experience in transportation safety management, preferably in chemical, oil and gas, energy, or related industries.
  3. Proven track record in managing transportation safety programs, including hazardous materials regulations compliance.
  4. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  5. Fluent in English; proficiency in Thai preferred.
  6. Familiarity with transportation management systems and technology tools.
  7. Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and relevant safety standards.
  8. Experience in emergency response planning and incident management.
  9. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
