Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead our operations and drive strategic initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes, enhance product quality, and ensure operational efficiency. The successful candidate will have a strong background in food and beverage, pharma, or consumer goods industries, with at least 15-20 years of experience managing manufacturing plants. An engineering background is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the operations team, ensuring alignment with the company's goals and objectives.
- Oversee all aspects of manufacturing operations, including production planning, quality control, inventory management, and facility maintenance.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and workflows, utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies and other best practices.
- Drive innovation and technology adoption to enhance manufacturing capabilities and stay ahead of industry trends.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, sales, marketing, and supply chain, to support new product development, launch initiatives, and customer requirements.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive results.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement among team members, promoting employee engagement and development.
- Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute strategic plans to drive business growth and profitability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other external partners to ensure reliable supply chain operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 15-20 years of progressive experience in operations management, preferably in the food and beverage, pharma, or consumer goods industries.
- Proven track record of success in managing manufacturing plants, with a focus on driving operational excellence, process optimization, and cost reduction.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve goals and objectives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across functions and levels of the organization.
- Strategic mindset, with the ability to think critically, analyze complex issues, and develop innovative solutions.
- Results-oriented approach, with a focus on driving performance, continuous improvement, and delivering measurable results.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to food production and manufacturing.
