A very fast paced entrepreneurially driven collaboratively agile business operating in a regulated B2B market is looking to appoint a high calibre Chief Operating Officer (COO) to be based in the East Midlands.

As the newly appointed COO you will work in close collaboration with the CEO, CFO and exec board, in this exciting, rapidly growing, Plc.

This role requires a hands on forward thinking intrapreneurial individual who understands the dynamics of a flat structure and the ownership and challenges such a structure brings The role will require you to own and drive commercial efficiencies, reduce gross margin leakage by streamlining and optimising operations whilst transitioning the Group onto a digitally self-serve automated platform both for internal and external stakeholders.

With a particular bias on commercial optimisation and automation (RPA) the Group welcomes an individual who shares the CEO's drive and vision to join a small top table Executive team and be a part of the groups next stage of growth.

Galvanising the trading, commercial, operational, IT and transformation activities of the Group, ensuring a robust and efficient delivery which aligns with the Board objectives to provide great customer service whilst maximising shareholder return.

Responsibilities include:

Leading a team of circa 80 people

Design and implement systems and process change to continually drive business performance, introducing business automation processes, and by driving innovation to ensure the group can scale rapidly through the efficient delivery of new products and services.

Implement new digital technologies to drive efficiency throughout the business: from customer acquisition through the entire customer lifecycle.

Manage operational processes in order to minimise Cost to Serve (CtS) whilst providing customers with a leading service level.

Optimise the gross margin achieved across the customer portfolio, through close customer lifecycle management, maximise customer renewal and value add opportunities.

Manage the Group's settlement processes to ensure accurate industry costs are incurred and are understood.

Minimise debtors and bad debt charge, by efficient and commercial debt collection operations.

Oversee the Group's trading arrangements. Propose and manage to an agreed risk mandate.

Manage third party performance to ensure good value, accurate and efficient delivery of critical services.

Lead, through proactive management, the implementation of change in order to enable the Group to realise its ambition across other products and services

Build and maintain strong working relationships, both internally and externally ensuring high standards of service are provided at all times.

Skills and Attributes

Passionate leader. Leads from the front with the ability to manage teams across a range of activities including transactional, technical, project management and digital disciplines.

Sector experience from, Energy, Utilities Telecoms, IT or Financial Services desirable.

A leader who can operate at the strategic level and roll up their sleeves and get into the detail with their teams.

Someone who is not afraid to think big and bring big bold transformational thinking to the table.

Knowledge of digital solutions and tools (including robotic process automation, RPA) would be highly advantageous.

Proven planning and project implementation skills - ability to work under pressure and prioritise/deliver key projects and tasks, assessing risks and potential gains.

Strong team management skills, demonstrable ability to motivate, influence and persuade both within own team and across the company including Board level

Demonstrate ability to think logically and laterally to provide solutions to complex problems/issues
