We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of IT with a strong background in applications, e-commerce, CRM, and customer-fronting applications in the hospitality industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading digital transformation, scaling teams, and setting strategic directions. The Head of IT will be responsible for taking the reins of our IT department, leading a team from ground zero, and establishing a robust, forward-looking IT strategy that aligns with our business goals.
1. Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and communicate a clear IT vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with the company's overall objectives.
- Lead the transformation of IT operations, driving efficiency, scalability, and innovation.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to identify technology trends and opportunities that can enhance the guest experience and operational efficiency.
2. Team Building and Management:
- Build and nurture a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and innovation.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to team members.
- Scale the IT team from ground zero, hiring and onboarding talented professionals across various IT domains.
3. Technology Architecture and Solutions:
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of IT solutions, applications, and systems that cater to both guest-facing and internal needs.
- Ensure that technology solutions align with best practices, security standards, and compliance requirements.
4. Digital Transformation:
- Drive digital transformation initiatives that elevate guest experiences through personalized services, seamless online interactions, and efficient processes.
- Champion the adoption of emerging technologies such as AI, data analytics, and automation to enhance operational efficiency and guest engagement.
5. Vendor Management and Partnerships:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with technology vendors, partners, and industry stakeholders.
- Collaborate with external partners to source cutting-edge solutions and services that align with the company's IT strategy.
6. Change Management:
- Lead change management efforts associated with the adoption of new technologies and processes, ensuring smooth transitions and user acceptance.
7. Budgeting and Resource Allocation:
- Develop and manage the IT department budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation to support strategic initiatives.
8. Travel and Collaboration:
- Be open to occasional travel as needed for collaboration, vendor meetings, and industry events.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience (8+ years) in IT leadership roles with a focus on applications, e-commerce, CRM, and customer-fronting applications, preferably in the hospitality / retail / F&B sector.
- Demonstrated success in leading digital transformation initiatives and scaling IT teams from inception.
- Strong understanding of emerging technologies, trends, and their applications in the hospitality industry.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to align technology solutions with business objectives.
- Proven experience in vendor management, negotiation, and partnership development.
