Business Development Director
1. Strategic planning
· Analyse existing business performance and benchmark with historical data as well as market performance and come up with gap analysis
· Conduct research regarding relevant industries, trends, business changes, etc. and come up with key implications for current and future business directions
· Take part in the strategic planning process, providing insights and findings from business analysis and recommending business alternatives for senior management team to make effective decision
2. New business development
· Research and identify new business opportunities, e.g. new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services, new ways of reaching existing markets, etc.
· Evaluate potential business opportunities by conducting financial and business analysis, examining risks, cost and benefits, to screen and shortlist the alternatives
· Develop the proposals for business alternatives with financial forecasts and analysis and present the findings to senior management team
· Liaise with finance team to conduct feasibility analysis of business alternatives
· Liaise with legal team regarding negotiating contracts and related requirements to settle the business deals
· Manage the relationship and build network with business partners, external organisations (e.g. banks, associations, etc.)
3. Existing portfolio management
· Monitor business performance of existing portfolio to ensure overall profitability
· Provide recommendations when the refocusing, rearrangement, reprioritisation of portfolio is needed to maintain healthy business performance
· Work with Business Managers to gain insights of existing business as an input for strategic planning and business development
