Market Mapping for a luxury skincare company

The challenge:

Our client was new to the region, starting up a cosmetic brand to be headquartered in Dubai, looking for candidates with a luxury retail background. The brand was known in the US, but unknown in the region, with no links to local quality candidates. Despite the risks associated with joining a start-up, thousands still responded to the client’s LinkedIn advert, resulting in an almost impossible time-consuming challenge of responding.

Our solution:

Argyll Scott was recommended to them and we were signed to find an Art Director and Senior Copywriter, both of whom needed Cosmetics/Beauty experience. We mapped all the relevant beauty brands, direct competitors and luxury retailers, and sourced referrals from our network. We also advised the company to look outside of the region for the Art Director role, due to limited local skillsets and ended up with over a thousand applicants to review and ultimately shortlist.

The outcome:

  • Our shortlists of five candidates per role were diverse in terms of backgrounds

  • All candidates who received an offer had first time acceptance rates and after a year are still at the same company

  • The client has recommended us to another brand in the industry, impressed by our levels of service

  • We are now their trusted exclusive recruitment partner and have since also placed a Social Media Editor, Graphic Designer and Global Brand Director
